About
The work of Peace & Justice Initiatives is to help educate, equip, and inspire people, churches, organizations, and more, to live in the world justly, compassionately, and to effect change through peaceful means. Through our programs, consultation, resources, public speaking, mentoring, and more, PJI wants to make the world a better place for everyone in it.
Peace & Justice Initiatives is a part of Global Youth Volunteer Network. Founded by Kim & Jamie Arpin-Ricci, this grass-roots ministry is located in the West End of Winnipeg, MB, Canada. While surrounded by urban challenges such as racism, poverty and crime, the area is also home to many different cultures & languages, natural & architectural beauty, and a true community of unique individuals and families. It offers an exciting, unified and hope-filled environment for our work.

Our Guiding Values:
Peace & Justice Initiatives is committed to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly”. Dedicated to transformative justice, we prioritize the work of restoration & reconciliation over retaliation & retribution. While our work is global, we live and organize on Treaty 1 Land, the traditional lands of the Dakota, Cree, Ojibway & Metis nations. We acknowledge that these are Treaty lands, forged through sacred promises between the First peoples and settler peoples. We acknowledge and repent of our willful & ignorant abuse and neglect of those promises. We are committed to honouring the First Nations of this land.
As we acknowledge the diversity of the human experience, we celebrate the many unique expressions as reflective of Creators intentions. To that end, we endeavour to be an inclusive and affirming organization- attentive to a diversity that includes but is not limited to economic and/or social circumstances, racial and/or cultural background, marital status, physical ability, intellectual capacity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and age- welcoming all to full participation in every aspect life.
Peace & Justice Initiatives embraces the peace tradition, committed to active peacemaking, non-violence, and non-violent resistance. As we discern what this means in our lives and programs, we are committed to honouring the freedom of every person to discern according to their conscience. No one will be coerced to affirm anything contrary to their convictions. We only ask that we treat one another with grace, humility, dignity, and love.
