Living Positive Kenya and Global Youth Volunteer Network
Global Youth Volunteer Network (GYVN) has been a partner of Living Positive Kenya (LPK) since before they were officially founded in 2007. GYVN teams and interns have supported LPK in such important and powerful ways, from building strong relationships with the women to assisting with building at the daycare. Our relationship with LPK has led to many mutually beneficial outcomes, including the sponsorship of almost 100 children from the LPK community.
How to Support LPK?
GYVN accepts donations on behalf of LPK and issues tax receipts for contributions and facilitates the sponsorship from Canada to cut down on transaction costs and administrative work for donors. We are very happy and are grateful for this opportunity to continue to strengthen our relationship and work together with LPK. Sponsorship is one of the best ways you can help children in the Ngong and LPK Community. When you sponsor a child, you are paying for them to go to school, nothing more and nothing less. Just to go to school, the children are required to have uniforms, food fees, medical fees and stationary.

Depending on the age of the child and the school sponsorships can range from $250.00 CAD to $600.00 per year. Please email lpksponsorship@gmail.com for further information on how to sponsor a child or if you have any questions about your current sponsorship.
Living Positive Kenya Christmas Drive
Each year LPK runs a Christmas Drive in order to provide hampers for between 100 and 120 families over the holiday season. Each hamper includes a variety of food and cooking materials. If you are interested in supporting LPK by purchasing a hamper for a family you can email lpksponsorship@gmail.com for more information or you can send donations via the methods detailed below. Each hamper for the Christmas Drive costs $50.00 CAD.
How to Donate Money to LPK Through GYVN?
If you would like to pay by Interac e-transfer, follow these steps:
1. Log into the Online Banking section of your bank and click Interac e-transfers. Enter deposits@gyvn.ca as the recipient.
2. We have transitioned to auto deposit so a security question and password are not required.
3. Put the name of your sponsor child or reason for the donation in the “Message/Instructions” box.
If you would like to pay by visa, follow these steps:

3. Put the name of your sponsor child or reason for the donation in the “Message/Instructions” box.
Note: CanadaHelps charges 3.9% for donations, so make sure to account for this in your donation. You will need to add roughly $4.00 for every $100.00 of the donation/costs. So if your fees are $215.00 your payment via CanadaHelps would be $224.00 or if your fees were $530.00 your payments via CanadaHelps would be $551.00.
